Trial Lesson Package
For teenagers and adult students (ages 13+) that are interested, NCGS offers a 5 lesson Trial Package. While many places offer a trial lesson, studies have shown that it takes approximately 21 days to create a habit. The purpose of NCGS' Trial Lesson Package is to develop a working relationship between student and instructor. In addition, it provides a substantial amount of time to allow the student to put in place concepts and ideas taught in their lessons.
The package is only available as 5, 30 minute or 60 minute lessons*. These lessons must be completed within 6 weeks, any outstanding lessons missed by the student are forfeited after 6 weeks. NCGS will not provide any refunds to student-missed cancellations or missed lessons.
Below is a basic outline of how the 5 Trial Lessons are Structured:
After completing the Trial Period, if a student decides to continue at NCGS they must make the commitment to regular lessons. The student can select from either 14 or 8 lessons for the Fall & Spring Terms; or 10 or 6 lessons for the Summer Term. Depending on when the student completes their trial period they will receive a prorated tuition for the remainder of the lessons for the Term they register for. Tuition must be paid in full, and no refunds will be given should the student decide to discontinue lessons in the middle of their 1st Term.

Below is a basic outline of how the 5 Trial Lessons are Structured:
- Week 1 - This lesson is to establish both long-term and short-term goals. If the student has played guitar before or has taken lessons, they may be asked to play a single piece to show what they can play and their knowledge. This is not an audition, but rather a way for the instructor to assess what to work on. During this lesson, a plan will be presented to achieve the the short-term goals established in the lesson.
- Weeks 2-4 - These lessons allow the relationship between student and teacher to develop. Here the teacher works with the student, helping them problem solve and work out issues that they've experienced over the course of the week. In addition, weekly goals are given for the student to try and accomplish by using the information provided to them during their lesson. Throughout the trial period, the teacher and student will get to know one another and learn how to work together. This relationship is critical to the students' development.
- Week 5 - This lesson wraps up all the information provided over the previous 4 weeks. The student and teacher talk about the development that has occurred as well as goals achieved. In addition, the student and teacher discuss where they student is in reaching their long-term goals and what to do to continue on that path.
