Preschool Suzuki Guitar Group Class (Ages 3-5)
This unique class combines the instruction of the Suzuki Method with an all group learning environment. Developed by the Japanese Violinist Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, his method focuses on how young children learn through observation and repetition. Integral to this method was his observation of how children learned language and apply it to music. Students will initially learn to play their music by ear and through imitation of their teacher.
Parent and child, together, will experience the joy of learning music through the classical guitar. With NCGS' unique song-based curriculum children will learn the skills necessary to complete the Pre-Twinkle stage of the Suzuki Method.
During class, parents work closely with their child to help guide them. In addition, families are given recordings to play at home, along with activities to help their child develop and grow their skill on the guitar. The class will cover general music skills like rhythm and pitch and specific skill sets which directly pertain to playing the guitar.
Necessary class materials including a CD, Parent Home Guide, etc. will be supplied in conjunction with registration. Families will need to provide their own guitar, footstool, tuner, etc. NCGS does offer a rental policy for families to rent a guitar along with a footstool, tuner and other necessities to use during the duration of the class.
